John J. Duffy’s practice focuses on the defense of professionals including attorneys, directors and officers. He also defends product manufacturers. In 2005, Mr. Duffy was selected from over 1,200 nominees as one of the 40 Illinois Attorneys Under 40 To Watch. He also chairs the Chicago Bar Association’s Committee on Legal Malpractice for 2008–2009.

Mr. Duffy has successfully tried to verdict several automotive product liability and legal malpractice matters. He has also handled national class actions for clients such as Ericsson, Madacy Entertainment Group, Ltd. and Simon Marketing, Inc. Mr. Duffy has briefed or argued appeals before the Seventh and Fourth Circuit Courts of Appeal, and the supreme and appellate courts of Illinois.

Mr. Duffy graduated in 1994 from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where he received seven American Jurisprudence Awards for academic excellence and served on the National Moot Court and National Mock Trial teams. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa. Mr. Duffy was elected a partner in the firm in December 2002.
